By transitioning your awning onto the roof rack you can protect it from damage when driving in close terrain. It also provides the potential to reduce the height of your vehicle to get into those underground carparks.
The awning specific version of the CROC HINGE® 4×4 bracket offers the exact same functionality and versatility as the original (available here), the only difference is that it has a shorter product leg making it ideal for mounting a vehicle awning. When the awning is in use i.e. extended, we always recommend you tie it down so that it’s secure.
Fitting a CROC HINGE® 4×4 awning bracket to your roof rack lets you easily move your awning between two positions:
- A deployed position where the awning sits in a vertical position on the side of the roof rack, and
- A stowed position where the awning rests flat on the roof rack.

The patented CROC HINGE® system allows for the convenient, controlled, and assisted movement of accessories fitted to the bracket between two positions—a stowed position where the accessory rests on the roof rack and a deployed position where the accessory is located at a lateral position on the side edge of the roof rack.
